Last year, UCNJ was one of only ten finalists for the 2025 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. The Aspen Prize is the nation’s signature recognition for America’s community colleges. This spring, UCNJ was named one of 25 semifinalists for the 2027 Aspen Prize. UCNJ is the only semifinalist in New Jersey. Being eligible for this prestigious award is a testament to the College’s commitment to student success outcomes.

This Catalog contains everything you need to navigate your path to success at UCNJ. Be sure to review the Academic Policies section, as it contains important information on academic requirements, including grading standards. In the “Programs of Study” section, you’ll find a clear roadmap for your chosen program, with more than 65 academic programs available, each offering a detailed, semester-by-semester track toward your degree or certificate.

Earning an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree at UCNJ will significantly improve your chances of transferring smoothly to a four-year institution, especially within New Jersey. Completing an Associate in Applied Science degree will prepare you to enter the workforce. In addition to helping students succeed while enrolled, UCNJ is prioritizing Community College 3.0 and post-completion success. This refers to UCNJ graduates completing their bachelor’s degree and earning a family sustaining wage. The success of every student, both while at UCNJ and beyond, is UCNJ’s priority.
