MET 104 - Engineering Drawings


This course is a study of the major elements of the engineering drawing. Topics include Multiview (2-dimensional) sections and pictorial views, dimensioning practices, ANSI standard limits and fits, surface finishes and fasteners. Measuring instruments will be used to confirm sizes and tolerances. Geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) are covered with attention to tolerances of form, orientation, location, runout and position. Also included are applications of symbols, datums, material condition modifiers, bonus tolerances, and virtual conditions. This course includes a laboratory section that has experiments and activities specifically designed to facilitate knowledge acquisition of course subject matter. Students must register for a lab component of this course.
Prerequisite(s): MET 109  or approval of Division
