COM 213 - Audio Production II This course is focusing on contemporary applications of all phases of audio production. Students will work on Mac and PC platforms and learn the fundamental and advanced applications of audio production in both the analog and digital domains. Subjects will include MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface), samples and loops, digital editing, multi-track and sequencing programs including Adobe Audition and Pro Tools, microphone techniques, mixing consoles, software plug-ins and soft synths, mastering, 5.1 Surround Sound, as well as the basic elements of film scoring and syncing audio to film. Students will be prepared for further academic study in the field, and provided with a solid background in audio engineering and production. Prerequisite: COM 113 . 3 lecture hours per week. 3 credit hours.
