EET 111 - Digital Computer Fundamentals A study of the fundamentals of digital computers including number systems, Boolean algebra, Karnaugh maps, logic functions, logic gates, and the implementation of logic functions using discrete and integrated circuit components. Combinations of fundamental circuits are developed to form counters, registers, encoders, decoders, multiplexers, demultiplexers, arithmetic, and memory units. In the laboratory the student is introduced to breadboarding, analysis, synthesis, testing and troubleshooting of digital circuits through the use of digital test instruments such as pulse generators, oscilloscopes, and logic probes. Prerequisite: ENG 096 . Co-requisite: EETL 111 , MAT 143 or MAT 119 . 3 lecture and 3 laboratory hours per week. 4 credit hours
