ENG 201 - Literature of the Western World I This course includes a survey of the major periods in the development of Western literature from ancient Greece and Rome through the Medieval era, with an emphasis on the major figures such as: Homer, Sophocles, Plato, Virgil, Paul, Augustine, Dante, and Chaucer. The place of literature in the social and political history of the West will also be explored. Prerequisite: ENG 102 or ENG 122 . 3 lecture hours per week. 3 credit hours
