BSM 110 - The Evolution of American Sports This course explores the evolution of American sports from the early Puritan mistrust of sporting events through the performance enhancing drug scandals of the present day. A strong emphasis is placed on the relationship between sport, society, and culture. The course also explores the rise of intercollegiate sports, the rise of women’s sports, professional and amateur sports in the age of television, and the quest for equity in sports. 3 lecture hours per week 3 credit hours
