EGG 201 - Engineering Mechanics (Statics) This course is a study of basic structural and mechanical systems in static equilibrium. Free-body diagrams, vector algebra, and scalar analysis are used to find resultants of forces and moments, and for solving equilibrium problems; applications including simple structures and machines, dry friction, center of gravity, centroids, area and mass moments of inertia by integration. Prerequisite(s): MAT 171 and PHY 111 3 lecture hours per week 3 credit hours
