HUD 106 - Interpreting Process Application in English to ASL A review of theoretical components and principles of interpreting process discussed in Interpreting Process (HUD 105 ) for application towards basic skill development in interpreting and transliterating from spoken English to ASL/Signed English. Strategies for effective listening skills, text analysis, conceptual accuracy and linguistic factors of sign language will be discussed and applied. Classroom practice is provided. 12 hours of field observation on specific aspects of Sign to voice interpreting will be required. 12 laboratory hours are required. Prerequisites: ASL 202 and HUD 105 and demonstration of proficiency by examination. 3 lecture hours per week. 3 credit hours.
