HIT 101 - Introduction to Healthcare Information Technology
This course provides an overview of healthcare delivery and the structure of healthcare organizations in the United States. It includes a discussion of the development and analysis of health records and the role of the health information technician. The relationship between a health record and reimbursement is also discussed. This course utilizes specialized software for hands on practice with an electronic health record. Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into the Health Information Technology Program. 3 lecture hours per week 3 credit hours
