Option offered through Computer Science

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Option offered through the Computer Science, A.S. program is designed to provide students with hands-on experiences to synthesize knowledge and demonstrate proficiency in real-world applications of AI. Covering key areas such as computer vision, natural language processing, deep learning, and programming for machine learning, the program ensures not only theoretical understanding but also practical application and research, developing a comprehensive understanding of AI’s technical and ethical dimensions. Graduates will utilize the skills obtained to design, develop, and implement AI-driven solutions across diverse industries.

Upon successful completion of all program requirements, graduates will be able to:

• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of core Artificial Intelligence concepts, including machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and deep earning.
• Apply various machine learning algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning, to solve real-world problems and analyze data effectively.
• Articulate AI project results, methodologies, and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including through reports and presentations.
• Create neural networks for practical applications, such as image recognition and language processing, using relevant tools and frameworks.

After UCNJ

Graduates are eligible to transfer to four-year institutions or enter the workforce in Artificial Intelligence development.
