CST 226 - Introduction to Operating Systems ▲ = Fulfills a General Education Requirement This course introduces the theory and function of contemporary operating systems. The course is not limited to a single operating system but rather to general operating systems concepts. Topics include the four main managers found in every operating system: memory management, processor management, device management, and file management. Also introduced are network organization concepts, operating system security, and management of network functions. Prerequisite(s): CST 161 3 lecture hours per week 3 credit hours
