PNU 212 - Adult Health II In this course, the student will continue to use the nursing process within the National League for Nursing (NLN) Competencies and Integrating Concepts framework. Knowledge and skills are focused on health promotion, therapeutic communication, application of growth and development principles, and incorporation of legal and ethical guidelines with patients and their families. Economic, sociocultural issues, and nursing trends that influence the patients and families will also be discussed. Clinical experiences will emphasize the application of the nursing process in providing care to patients with medical/surgical disorders. The nursing process, critical thinking, pharmacology, and mental health are reinforced in order to ensure students reflect evidence-based professional practices that address quality, equity, and safety in health care. Supporting the NLN Competencies and Integrating Concepts, the QSEN competencies and National Patient Safety Goals are integrated throughout the course. Prerequisite(s): PNU 193 Co-requisite(s): PSY 204 90 lecture hours and 135 clinical/simulation hours per semester 9 credit hours
