DMSM 101 - Patient Care with Introduction to Sonography


This course covers the fundamental principles, techniques, and procedures in patient care, including ethics and medico-legal considerations. It introduces students to practical clinical components through demonstration labs and competency testing in patient care skills. Additionally, the course explores the historical, professional, and occupational development of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound. Emphasis is placed on case studies of various imaging modalities and their correlation with ultrasound findings. Students will also engage with sonography terminology and scanning demonstration labs to enhance their practical understanding.
Prerequisite(s): ENG 101  and ENG 102 , BIO 105  and BIO 106 , PSY 101  or SOC 101 , MAT 113  or higher
