Program Description
Option offered through Liberal Arts Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. This program is for those students who wish to transfer to a four-year institution and major in Psychology. Upon successful completion of all program requirements, graduates will be able to: - Relate psychological principles to personal, social, and organizational issues;
- Evaluate evidence and ethical issues relating to psychology;
- Examine the complexity of sociocultural and global diversity;
- Analyze major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical trends in psychology;
- Apply basic research methods in psychology, including research design, data analysis, and interpretation;
- Solve problems related to behavior and mental processes by utilizing critical and creative thinking, skeptical inquiry, and the scientific approach;
- Illustrate information literacy by utilizing multiple media sources and technology, and by communicating effectively in a variety of formats.
After UCNJ
Graduates can transfer to a four-year degree program majoring in the Social Sciences or Liberal Arts, or other areas of interest and are eligible to take advantage of the many transfer/ articulation agreements UCNJ has with some of the top four-year colleges and universities in the country.
